One of the great lost bands of all time, Master Zangpan and the Mechanical Housewife played a single magnificent concert, before acrimoniously using the money to go to a nightclub before going to college and university.

Described by their publicist as a combination of Frank Sidebottom and the Pixies, they were probably sold short by those comparisons.

Such classic songs as "Kevin Is Very Dull" and "Teakettle" will ring forever in the minds of those who heard them, and the one amazing EP they produced, "Empty Bag", remained for many years a highly sought-after collector's item - not least sought-after by those who had recorded it.

We always said that if a copy was ever brought to light the songs would be made available on this website within a matter of hours, such was the urgency with which this lost legacy of rock had to be presented to the world, and we were true to our word.

On 16 February 2007 a copy arrived.

Feast your ears on Empty Bag (1990).
